Prerequisites
- PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver, or Adventure Diver with the Underwater Navigation dive
- Minimum age 12 (Junior Rescue Diver for ages 12–14)
- Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or equivalent) within the last 24 months

Course structure
- Knowledge development on stress recognition, emergency management and accident prevention
- 10 rescue exercises in confined or open water
- 2 open water rescue scenarios: an unresponsive diver at the surface and a missing diver
Water skills & fitness
- No separate swim test; rescue exercises are physically demanding
After the course
Recognise and manage dive emergencies. Required for Master Scuba Diver and Divemaster. Next step: Master Scuba Diver, Divemaster.
Summary of current PADI standards. Everyone completes the PADI Diver Medical Questionnaire; any “yes” answer needs a physician’s approval before diving. Your instructor confirms eligibility before training starts.

Do I need to know how to swim?
There is no separate swim test, but the rescue exercises are physically demanding, so you should be comfortable and fit in the water.
Do you provide equipment?
Yes. Full rental gear is included in the price of every course.
